Dr Henry Kissinger will travel to Peking for talks with Premier Chou En Lai to advance U S China relations. The White House announced he departs Thursday or Friday and arrives in Shanghai Monday evening China time for a week long stay. Talks may cover Vietnam among other topics.

Iowa supervisors tied to graft case to be sentenced
Cedar Rapids salesman Isaac Shaver found guilty of wining and dining three Iowa County Supervisors to secure a 21 313 dollar road grader contract. The three supervisors Dale Noyes George Schindler and Theodore Lane pleaded guilty and were fined. Shaver faces a June 29 sentencing with a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a 500 dollar fine. In a separate report from Burlington Northern Railroad the wreckage of a freight train derailed near Russell blocking the AMTRAK line and causing rerouting through Des Moines.
