Ary forces plan Friday county tour with anti repeal rallies
A county tour by Ary forces is set for Friday June 16 with a cavalcade of cars and a 20 member volunteer band. They will visit Washington West Chester Wellman Kalona Riverside Ainsworth Crawfordsville Wayland and Brighton delivering brief addresses and distributing anti repeal literature. The group will gather in Central park before nine and plan a picnic lunch at Kalona while a pulpit exchange with visiting ministers is also being arranged for next Sunday.

Miss Charlotte Foster longtime Lincoln Grade School principal in Washington died Saturday afternoon at her Ainsworth home after a long asthma battle. Funeral services were held at the Plainfield Methodist Church with burial planned there. Foster, born January 3, 1894 near Plainfield, had taught under Supt. J. H. Peet in Dysart and at Plainfield, later guiding students in marionette theater and public speaking. She belonged to the Alma Hearne Holland missionary society and several lodges, leaving her mother Mrs. S. A. Foster, sister M. Foster, and a niece Beverly Ann Smith.

Three swarthy men possibly from a Des Moines forest camp raided the State Bank of Bussey and escaped with 9000 dollars after using a Des Moines stolen car. A shot wounded Ro land Anderson, and a Buick sedan was later used for the escape. The robbers, one at the wheel, forced cashier J B Couchman and assistant Lola Sandiland to lie down while lining up customers. One woman resisted, aiding identification. An Iowa sheriff later seized the Ford used and fingerprinted it. the incident drew swift pursuit and description from witnesses.
