The Kentucky delegation rows concluded with Taft securing sixteen delegates including all four at large and contested seats from the First Second Fourth Seventh Eighth Tenth and Eleventh districts. A. T. Welch of Brunswick Georgia and Lieut. L W Hazelhurst of the Seventeenth Infantry died when a Wright Biplane crashed during a climbing test at about 100 feet. Both necks were broken and death was instantaneous. The accident prompted an army inquiry led by Capt. De Forest Chandler. Their bodies were taken to Walter Reed hospital.
Reports from Alaska describe Mount Hayes activity and Kalmi volcano ashfall. The revenue cutter Manning rescued Kodiak residents and now supplies water and rations as ash polluted springs. An appeal asks cities to donate funds for hundreds of destitute people. The relief effort involves federal action and requests for aid nationwide.

Actress Lillian Russell and Alexander P. Moore of Pittsburg are to wed today in Pittsburg at the Hotel Schenley. The license was issued to Mrs. Susan Westford of New York, sister of Miss Russell, and the ceremony will be followed by a wedding breakfast. The couple plan to travel to Chicago after the wedding and the Republican convention.
Louisiana congressman Robert C. Wickliffe was killed on Southern railway tracks in Potomac Park while on a fishing trip. His wife, unaware of the loss, learned of the death in the House gallery and fainted when informed by colleagues. Memorial services will be held later in the session.

Louis N Seaman former cashier of the Elgin National Bank Elgin Illinois was arrested in Los Angeles by government agents for embezzlement and misapplication of over 100000 of Elgin bank funds. The arrest stemmed from discrepancies found in the bank's accounts and involved Charles De Woody of the justice department.
Toronto June 12 Julia Mary Lowe who was taken ill at the Queen Hotel was reported somewhat better but will not be on stage for some time. Physicians say the ailment is prostration due to overwork.
