In Waterloo Iowa on June 11 an unidentified man about 66, well dressed, was found dead on the Cedar River banks near the city outskirts. A boy found the body in mud about three yards from the river. Drag marks suggested he was pulled by the heels possibly by a boat during high water. The body was decomposed, likely there for over two weeks, and a large sum of money was found pinned inside his coat pocket.
Mexico City June 11 Villa Hermosa the capital of Tabasco state has been captured by federal forces after rebels evacuated the town. General Vicente Gonzalez announced via the War Department that the federals fired a single shot and the rebels withdrew marching toward Guatemala.
Five men described as Ku Klux Klan members from Burlington were arrested in Davenport for posting literature. They faced bill posting ordinance charges and forfeited their bonds. named individuals included L. R. Warner Garey Ramon Jack Freedman FB Feldman and V. O. Dickson.

Chicago reports announce a new chemical formula said to have cured forty percent of 300 cancer cases. Dr. Co. Everett Field of the Radium Institute of New York presented the claim before the Association for the Study and Cure of Cancer during the AMA convention. Field said the formula targets cancer as a German disease and exceeds results of X ray and radium therapies.
Paris reports President Millerand resigned today. Paul Painleve was chosen by radicals and socialists as their candidate for president. The communist candidate is Deputy Andrew Marty, the Black Sea mutineer recently released from long imprisonment.
