Abstract of County Auditor shows increased valuations in 1909
The 1909 Washington County abstract of assessment by County Auditor Chauncey E. Myers reports total property value at 27,321,188.00 up from 25,833,906.00 in 1907, with real estate and personal property both rising. Land totals 347,353 acres valued at 16,214,414.00, average 46.75 per acre, and taxable property totals 27,131,096.00. The report notes a 33 percent gap between assessed and actual land value and lists township by township totals and per-acre averages.
