Washington Y’s Men Club Plays Pivotal Global Role
The Washington Iowa Y's Men club, founded in 1925 with 20 members, now has 57. Washington hosts the international Y's Men's World publication edited by Dave Elder, and two charter members remain. The World is produced in the Journal office and the club has produced leaders who became international presidents. The organization spans 350 clubs with about 11,000 members worldwide, including many countries and regions. The Washington club emphasizes YMCA service and local fundraising, maintaining a strong regional leadership presence.
