They logged a spacewalk, near-recapture attempts, and a well-functioning capsule as flight chiefs kept plans flexible.
Mrs. J A Raymond, 54, of Crawfordsville died Friday June 4 1965 at Washing Ital Hospital. She was born Mary Hazel Everly November 5 1910 in Lancaster Missouri and married Jess A Raymond April 12 1930. Survived by husband a daughter six grandchildren three sisters and three brothers. Funeral Monday at 2 p m at Jones Funeral Home with Rev Robert Rushing officiating. Burial in Crawfordsville cemetery.
Officials deny rumors about a Fair sponsored show at the Washington County Fair Grounds. Tests by medical authorities find personnel with no contagious disease. Fair Board spokesmen pledge to bring best possible entertainment to Washington County.

Only senior high students may attend. ninth graders in September wait until then. Center open every other Saturday all summer. New adult board members named. Bryan James Bruty, two day old infant, died June 3 1965 in Town City. Graveside rites Saturday Elm Grove Cemetery Reverend Grubb officiating. Survivors include parents two sisters grandparents and great grandparents.
The Iowa House killed a subdistricting measure that would allow division of large counties into separate legislative districts. The plan, part of a constitutional amendment, was amended to bar such division before being tabled amid debate. The session stretched into its 143rd day as lawmakers weighed reapportionment concerns and political implications.
Public notices announce probate of a will and the appointment of an executor for the estate of Mabel Gray. The notice lists applicable court, filing dates, and related procedural steps for interested parties to contest or participate in the proceeding.
Labor Secretary W. Willard Wirtz warned that society ignores continuing adult education as knowledge doubles every decade or two. Speaking at the University of Iowa, he urged free public education for adults, Sabbaticals every seven years with pay, and open access to state universities for nontraditional learners.
The First Baptist Church of Washington will shift Sunday schedule for summer starting June 6. Sunday School begins at 9:00 a.m. and morning worship at 10:15 a.m. The new times apply through the summer months.
U.S Marines repelled a 50 guerrilla assault on a bridge near Da Nang. Three Viet Cong and two Marines were wounded in the brief fight. An allied air or ground operation near Bien Hoa and further Viet Cong hit and run raids produced additional casualties, including a child killed in a police station raid.
Funeral services for Milo Arthur will be held Sunday at 2 30 p m in the Ainsworth United Presbyterian Church with Rev Dale Brehmer and Rev Vernon Worthman in charge. Jones Funeral Home handles arrangements and friends may call there until 11 a m Sunday.
Gov Harold Hughes told Democratic leaders the current Iowa General Assembly must adjourn today. He blasted lawmakers for tabling a subdistricting amendment and warned the courts may act. He urged budget balance steps and hinted at options to close the gap while noting he is not happy with the impasse. Lt Gov Fulton and key House and Senate leaders attended the briefing.

Voters will cast ballots next Thursday June 10 on whether Washington County should erect and equip a new county hospital addition funded by 750000 in bonds and a tax up to 1.25 mills The plan places the new building east of the present hospital and utilizes the old building for minimal care while heating is shared with the new structure Federal funds would cover about one third of the cost and could not be used for remodeling the 53 year old building which would remain in service.
