Plans Completed for Washington County Flower Show

Preparations are finished for the Washington County Flower Show to be held tomorrow in the Marsh W. Bailey garden from 1 to 8 PM. The garden club invites men to enter exhibits and attend, with hours extended to accommodate country attendees in the early evening.

Boy Scout Program At Sunset Park This Evening

Washington Boy Scouts assisted by their brother Scouts from nearby towns will present an array of activities at Sunset Park this evening at 7 45. Dr A W Clow district scout commissioner and Scoutmaster L R Lupton have trained their scouts in many events to entertain and instruct Washingtonians about the program for boys in the community. The events include spectacular and educational demonstrations and many residents are expected to attend.

Flower Truck Strikes Roc Island Engine at Crossing

A Peter son flower shop delivery truck driven by A. J. Peterson collided with a Roc Island engine at the North Marion avenue crossing yesterday evening around 7 15. The driver escaped injury though the front of the Ford was demolished. Obscured view due to coal banks and crossing gates not in operation contributed to the crash.

Weilman People to Make a Visit Here

Arrangements were made for a Wellman delegation to Washington on Saturday evening in support of Jessen for the board of supervisors. About twenty cars are planned with the Wellman band to perform in Central Park. They plan to depart Wellman at 6 30 and arrive in Washington about 7 15 with enthusiastic supporters.

Washington High School Honors Eighty One Graduates

Last night 81 pupils received diplomas from Washington public school. Supt. J H Peet praised the class as the finest yet, noting high averages and leadership in academics, arts, and activities. Dr Naboth Osborne urged service to others and industry, while the ceremony featured solos by Carolyn McCleery and an address on equipment of life.

Commercial Club to Meet Next Tuesday

The annual meeting of the Commercial club will be held next Tuesday evening to elect officers and directors. Seven directors are to be named. Candidates have already been named to be voted on at this session. About thirty members retain their membership and are allowed access to the billiard and card room and bowling alleys at the old club house, now the city hall.
