Seven cars of a Milwaukee Railroad freight train derailed after midnight when a refrigerator car struck a bridge over the Skunk River near Rubio. The wooden bridge and rails were heavily damaged, with fires burning in a refrigerator car laden with french fries. Fire crews fought flames through the night as reconstruction plans began.

Council weighs switch to new three county landfill near Richland

Hopes dim for action on gas tax in Iowa

Washington City Council trims 1975 water main program
