Gainesville Ga July 3. The cyclone's toll climbs with about 100 killed and 150 injured, potentially over 100 deaths as physicians estimate. Homes destroyed leaving 500 homeless and property losses around 2 million dollars, with many mill workers among the dead and injured.

William Andres, a Baltimore sailor, had tongue and tonsils removed for cancer at City hospital. A small hole above the larynx permits breathing. He spoke indistinctly when dressing was renewed and will likely die within a year from cancer spread.
