Two Roach Control Programs Offered in Washington County

Wood roaches are common in Washington County homes says County Extension Director Jim Frier. Iowa State Entomologist Harold Gunderson endorses two treatment options using 2 percent malathion or 1 percent Diazinon emulsifiable concentrate per gallon of water mixed fresh for each application. Apply under sinks behind baseboards and in cupboards, repeat every 30 days for at least three months after the last roach is seen. Emulsifiable concentrates are sold at drug stores and farm stores.
