Iowa plans a new sale of 22 million soldier bonus bonds at 11 am tomorrow with bids expected around four and a half percent and premiums. Treasurer W J Burbank noted first and last bonds may go at about four and a quarter percent and certificates will accompany immediate delivery after approval.
The Shipping Board chairman announced that thorough investigation shows no bid higher than one billion dollars offered by John W Slack of Silver Creek New Jersey for the merchant fleet.
In June a decision on the location for the Yeomen brotherhood of America home is to be made within sixty days after Iowa representatives met to promote Iowa as the site. Dr. Walter A. Jessup urged Iowa as suitable, presenting legal advantages as a location. Berlin unrest turns deadly as two demonstrators die and six are wounded in Bautzen after clashes with police.
The German mark fell from about 69,500 to the dollar to 72,650 by noon causing widespread price increases from 50 to 100 percent on essentials. Berlin residents face rising wholesale and retail costs as the currency slides and wage pressures mount.

Berlin plans to transfer about 63 million gold marks to New York to cover reparation bills due June 15. The payments settle the final installment for Belgium obligations agreed last summer.
A A and W F Cooper, prominent vehicle makers from Dubuque Iowa, were found guilty by a U S district court jury on a three count conspiracy charge involving fraudulent income tax returns for 1918 1919 and 1920 The verdict could bring prison terms and fines with bonds set at five thousand dollars each and a motion for a new trial expected.

The twenty seventh annual Danish Lutheran Churches of America convention gathers in Elk Horn Iowa a Danish settlement twelve miles north of Atlantic. Over eight hundred delegates and many officials from abroad registered with crowds expected surging to two thousand by Sunday night. Sessions are in a large tent on the Elims campus with visitors including H Ostenfeld H Bertelsen P C Paulson and Dr P S Vig who will address the day. Officials to be elected this afternoon.

Major A R K Allen of the US Army Medical Corps and English traveler W Smith arrived in the region saying all foreigners held by Su chow train bandits will be released in a few days. Major Allen said Chinese officials pressed for proof of good faith. Smith, about sixty, planned to resume travel but would avoid bandit areas.
Investigators from the state attorney’s office raided offices of two Chicago brokerage firms and seized their books in connection with an injunction. About a half dozen witnesses including brokerage representatives and customers were summoned to the attorney’s office for questioning.
New York Governor Smith, after a lengthy public hearing, weighs whether to veto or sign the repeal of the Mullan-Gage state prohibition enforcement act. He must decide by midnight Sunday as the 30 day period expires, with friends kept in the dark about his stance.
Iowa will receive 1 401 915 16 from the federal highway appropriation for 1923 announced by C R Jones auditor of the state highway commission. The amount matches last year and will be added to about 6 164 632 of state motor license revenue for a total highway fund.
In Mason City Iowa on June 1 four people perished when a small motor boat capsized on Clear Lake Wednesday night. Victims are Mr and Mrs Dan Hickock Miss Bess Parks and George Stoneback. Bodies recovered by afternoon after search began when Mrs Hickoks brother Albert Hinstine notified authorities.

The panel was selected three weeks ago and deliberation is expected tomorrow.
San Francisco aviator Emmett Tanner fell two to three stories in an Alameda crash yesterday. witnesses saw the plane descend, and Tanner crawled from the wreckage, joking about continuing his journey and asking for the nearest street car line.
