Tobacco taxes totaled 1,238,000,000 for 1947, up 72,249,000 from 1946. liquor taxes 2,475,000,009, down 51,401,000 from the prior year. Jennings Green of Promised City Wayne county was elected supervisor of the Washington County Dairy Herd Improvement Association to replace Leonard Booth who resigns to attend college.
