In Tampa a doctor who separated conjoined twins said there is a good chance the surviving infant will lead a normal life after one twin died Sunday. The five hour operation was performed by Dr. Richard Connor with Dr. Richard Blank. The twins were joined by a broad band from the navel to the upper chest with separated organs and chest cavities. Vessels between the hearts and tissue between the livers were severed and tied off. The surviving infant was alive and doing reasonably well and the mother is also in good condition.
