Minneapolis Pilot Dies In Plane Wreck
Capt. P L Crichton an army flier was killed and co pilot Owen Haughland seriously injured when their endurance flight plane the Minnesota crashed on Wold Chamberlain field after 155 hours of continuous flying. Crichton piloted to 200 feet of the field dropped a note for help then the craft faltered and crashed. Crichton home in Minneapolis. Haughland rushed to Fort Snelling hospital. Officials began immediate examination of the Minnesota to determine the crash cause.
