Runaway horse injures Neal in country mishap
A threshing season accident near the city involved Mr. Wm. Neal driving a cart with a single horse. The cart tipped on a sharp turn, the horse bolted, and Neal was dragged until taken into Sam Neal’s house. He suffered facial bruises but is not believed to be seriously hurt.

Lightning Kills Farm Owner and Burns Barn Near North English
A Norfolk Iowa dispatch reports M M Rodgers was struck by a bolt of lightning while closing a barn door during a severe thunderstorm. He died instantly and the barn burned with six horses inside. Rodgers, a Wilton Junction transplant, leaves a wife and seven children. burial plans and survivors are listed, with condolences from friends.
