Dr Lauritz Larsen of New York city president of the National Lutherans council goes to Paris to confer with Dr J A Morehead and with the American Relief administration. The council has distributed substantial aid to Europe and now operates for relief in Russia.
Amid a coal strike officials warn farmers face a ten day supply crunch harming harvests. An American Farm Bureau federation spokesman called for government takeover of mines to run them until the dispute is resolved, while opposing troop protection for private operators.
National League results include Boston over Chicago 7 to 5, New York 12 to 7 over St. Louis, Pittsburgh at Brooklyn, and Cleveland at Washington with varying outcomes. American League games show Chicago 4, Boston 3, Detroit 1, New York 6, and tied or incomplete listings for St. Louis and others.

Montreal July 28 Canadian shop men employed by the Grand Trunk railroad are nearly forced to declare an immediate strike as the system insists on repairing engines and cars sent in from lines in the United States whose repair men are on strike.
