Kalona Horse Show Postponed by Rain to Friday
Kalona The Kalona Community Club postponed its second annual Horse Show due to rain. The event will now be held Friday night July 29 at 8 15 CDT. Forty one Cub Scouts Take Part in Camporee
Forty one Washington Cub Scouts joined Pack 243 for a two day camporee south of the Washington airport. They consumed groceries including 22 pounds of wieners 10 gallons of kool aid nine dozen eggs and three gallons of orange juice. Worship services were led by the Rev S Ray Blair with St James visitors. Adult workers and den mothers assisted with meals and campfire programs marking the 50th anniversary of Boy Scouting.

Emmett Spence a 29 year old hitchhiker from Sandy Hook Kentucky led detectives to two victims taking authorities to Johnny Thomas Keen in Key West and Leon C Hammell Jr on Big Coppitt Key.
