Washington Family Honored by County Farm Organization
The Duensing family from Washington County will represent their county as Farm Family Day on August 14 at the 16th All Iowa State Fair in Cedar Rapids. Mr. Duensing raises dairy cattle and hogs with son Lloyd. daughter Sloyad is married to Lloyd, and Mary Ellen (Mrs Meier) lives in Waterloo. The family, active in the Farm Bureau and church, will attend round of events and receive gifts and certificates. The fair runs August 12 to 19 with livestock shows and other attractions including the Hawk Eye Derby and All Iowa Fair Revue.

Council Bluffs Man Denies Knowledge Of Bank Robbery
Samuel Rocha a 27 year old manager of the Railroad Man's club in Council Bluffs was arrested by the FBI at Burlington station with a large envelope containing 110526 in bonds stolen from the McClelland Iowa Savings Bank. Rocha claimed he was paid to deliver the package to another man and did not know its contents. He faces theft and robbery charges with a 50000 bond and a Friday hearing. The FBI will continue its Southwest Iowa burglary probe.
