Forgery charge shadows Richmond town news

A man named William P. Ryan, formerly of Indiana and now in Richmond, is jailed on a forged note case. He had driven a cream wagon for Hise Bros and bought horses from Waldrich and Lemley, with Lemley learning the note was forged and triggering the arrest. The case heads to court after bonds set at $800.

Tactical drill orders from marching attack sequence

The notes outline a captain commanding a marching attack with 2d Lt and 1st Lt issuing forming and halt orders. Bridge collapse near Richmond injures one as five fall

A threshing machine and engine caused the English River bridge about a mile and a half beyond Richmond to cave in. Five men fell with the structure, but only one was injured, and the injuries were minor. The bridge was an old structure in good repair.
