Capt Abraham of Mt Pleasant Dies at 82 in Henry County
Capt Lot Abraham, veteran of the Civil War and Iowa state senator, died at his home in Mt Pleasant at 9 p.m. He was 82 and had suffered weeks of illness. Born April 18, 1838 in Butler county Ohio, he moved to Henry county as a child, rose from private to captain with Curtis and Sheridan campaigns, earned brevet major, and later became a stock raiser and Republican leader. Survived by his two wives and several children, the funeral is set for Sunday at 3 p.m. with interment on his farm.
