Danville Woman Injured In One Car Burlington Accident
Mrs. Parl Van Hemert, 39, of Danville, was in critical condition after a one car crash Saturday night in Burlington. She suffered severe fractures, lacerations, and possible internal head injuries as the sole occupant was ejected. Her husband, a Des Moines County farmer, is in Moscow with an Iowa farm group touring Europe. A Burlington man recently filed a lawsuit against her related to a two year old traffic accident in which two people were killed.

Vehicles Sideswipe During Heavy Rain
An accident seven miles north of here on highway 218 during heavy rain caused about $700 in damage to two vehicles. No injuries were reported. Ethel Gray of Kirkwood Missouri drove a 1955 Chevrolet south and swerved into the curb after water splashed from a truck driven by Daniel Shannon of Wisconsin. The truck, owned by a St Paul Minnesota tracking concern, sustained $300 in damage to two tires and a rim. Sheriff Charles Snyder investigated. no charges were filed.
