Berlin July 21 A Red Army veteran Vladimir Pazula reports a Russian version of a Hitler rumor that Hitler is in Palestine. Pazula cites a Berlin Red Army newspaper as his source but admits he has not seen the report himself. He questions Palestine as a possible hideout.
Mr and Mrs Frank Pearson of North Iowa avenue report their son Lt David B Pearson is in a hospital on Okinawa with shrapnel injuries from an enemy bomb dated June 28 He wrote to his parents about the hospitalization but no war department notification has arrived He had been able to move about the hospital and expected to be dismissed soon since leaving for overseas in February He is in the medical section of an aviation engineering battalion MAC
The seventh war loan at Town Ordnance Plant raised 734031.26 in cash for employees. Most was invested in Series KE Bonds with payroll deductions driving the total. Employee participation reached 117 percent of the Day and Zimmermann quota, and plant workers contributed 46 percent of Des Moines county BE Bond quota.
