Graveside services for Star Sergeant Carl Robert Adams killed in action will be held Wednesday at Elm Grove cemetery. Elephant Handler Injured in Circus Car Collision
Lewis Reed, veteran elephant handler with the Dailey Brothers circus, suffered minor injuries when struck by a car at the intersection of North Second Avenue and East Third Street Saturday evening. He was taken to Washington County Hospital for treatment of cuts and bruises.

Thousands Honor General Pershing Dies in Arlington Visit

In Joliet Illinois eleven year old Billy Provance lost his arm after his right arm became caught in the gears of a carnival carousel run by Francis Eller of Chicago. Billy had been taking tickets and waving to friends when Eller left to answer a call. Eller freed the plate but Billy’s arm was ground off near the wheel.
