Marshalltown man dies after river rescue attempt
Frank Gilbert, 62, and Ivan Fonken fell into the Iowa river at Marshalltown while fishing above Center steam. Gilbert saved the boy, but sank and died after Don Morgan rescued Fonken and then recovered Gilbert. Firemen and police revived him for 45 minutes without success at the hospital.

More Potato Seed Pods Reported Across Communities
