Funeral services for Mrs. F M Smith announced for 2 p m Saturday at L A Jones funeral home with Rev C E Coggeshall of Ainsworth Methodist church to conduct the service. Burial in Crawfordsville cemetery. Mrs. Smith 89 died Wednesday morning at the home of her son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs W Richards three miles south of Ainsworth after a short illness.

Brighton Baby Dies After Illness in Iowa City
Judith Ingle aged one and a half, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Ingle, died at University hospital Iowa City from a blood clot linked to meningitis. Ill since July 4, she was taken to hospital Monday. Funeral set for 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at Mrs. Ingle's mother Mrs. James Bender home with Rev. W. J. Stevens officiating. Born January 27, 1939, she is survived by her parents a half sister Janet Dillard and grandmother Mrs. Bender.

The J. W. Meyers family and Mrs Mary Sherlock attended the funeral of Oscar E Meyers in Longmont Colorado. Meyers born Gracehill died July 10 at his sister's Grand Lake home after a sudden heart attack. He left a wife and three children and was a talented musician with many local friends.

Relief Auction Raises 80.49 for Red Cross Fund
Washington county Red Cross chapter reported 80.49 raised at a public auction for civilian relief in war torn Europe. All proceeds were donated with W G G Eldridge directing the sale. The county total now 984.91 toward a 1 440 goal, leaving 455.09 still needed as volunteers seek further contributions. About 200 items were donated and sold, including three pigs that fetched 2 total. Three auctioneers led the event after the Municipal band concert in Central park.

Neighbors Save Wheat Field on Navy Farm
