MINE EXPLOSION KILLS DOZENS AT DAYLY WEST PIT
At 1 a m yesterday a powder magazine explosion at the Daly West and Ontario Mines near Park City Utah killed many workers. About thirty five names were known immediately, with a long list of men missing or dead from the blast. The disaster occurred in a 1200 foot level area where two powder magazines connected basements. Many workers were at the mine when the explosion occurred. Names listed include Thomas A Kelley J R Jackman J B Kinestall and John Weatherstone among others. Five more bodies were expected to be found as rescue efforts continued.
