Gov. Ray plans to visit the Washington County Fairgrounds at 4 30 p m on August 7. Premium books have been distributed to all families. Livestock and most project entries and fees are due by July 24 at the Extension office, with photography due July 31 and garden entries August 5.
Jeff Shelangoski, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dickinson, narrowly escaped a rattlesnake bite while helping move hay at the Dickinson farm. A bale was kicked, the snake struck Jeff’s boot, its fangs close to the top. the serpent and boy fled in opposite directions.
Nuangwong Boonyanate from Ayuthya Thailand arrives Sunday July 21 to stay with the Wendell Frazer family in Brighton and enroll as a Washington Community High School senior this fall. She is sixteen and will be known as Ong in the United States while studying.
