Large turnout at Log Cabin summer event marks record
Seventy nine persons registered at the Log Cabin in Sunset Park yesterday afternoon from two to five. Co hosted by Mrs Hugh Hall and Mrs Watleetah Ingalls. The gathering drew many school children and adults from four states Pennsylvania Illinois California and Iowa. Log Cabin booklets were sold, and the historic memorials describe each building article compiled by kLverstine Daniels as a WPA project. The cabin will reopen on Thursday July 29 from 2 to 5 with hostesses to be announced.

Carris and Sitler Help Fisher Win U S E Award
Kenneth Carris of Carris Manufacturing and Bill Sitler with P L Fenn of Sitler Auto Parts Service attended ceremonies for an army and navy EB pennant awarded to Fisher Governor plant in Marshalltown. Sitler employs 14 on two nine hour shifts since Oct 20 1942 producing 45000 pieces. Carris started Feb 16 1943 with 20 workers producing 22000 heavier precision parts. Both plants run 18 hours daily six days a week for Fisher and Carris also makes parts for Voss Brothers Davenport.
