Frederick John Wagenknecht, a longtime Ainsworth resident, died Saturday at 4:30 PM at the county home after a stroke. Born in Germany on August 13, 1845, he emigrated to the United States in 1887, lived on a farm near Emden, Illinois, and moved to Washington County in 1909. He is survived by his son Henry Wagenknecht of Ainsworth, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a brother in Sterling. Burials scheduled in Emden, ML, today.

Carris of Washington, 17, suffered facial and scalp wounds with shock. others had minor cuts. The Abernathys of Vinton had the worst injuries. a doctor spent two hours treating bruises and cuts. The party included Vinton youths returning from Milton.
