NFL moves to settle pension fund dispute
NFL owners and players again plan a Sunday meeting in New York to resolve differences over contributions to the players pension fund. NFL president Arthur Modell confirmed the session after a Friday demand from the players association led John Gordy of the Detroit Lions to denounce owners for trying to “break the union.” Gordy, leading 700 players, said none would report for 1968 camp until a reasonable pension agreement is reached. In England, two policemen investigating a 999 call found four girls in their New Malden apartment claiming a mouse problem, but responders could not locate the creature.
