Fairfield A son of Sam Gilbert, a farmer living south of Birmingham, suffered lacerations when he fell under a tractor with a disc. The disc plates tore his clothing and cut flesh in several spots. He was later returned home.
In Waterloo a burglar stole thirteen window shades from a vacant house owned by J. A. Talley. Talley says the thief should have privacy in solitary confinement, as the crime involved burglary larceny from a building and destruction of private property.
Under a blistering sun 700 youths from all states in the seventh corps area were introduced into army life at the C. M. IT. C. at Fort Des Moines. They began with health checks assignments and uniforms then drilled and studied lectures daily. The camp will close Aug.
Residents of a suburban Iowa City district voted unanimously to incorporate as a town and will elect officials in about two weeks, officials announced today.
Three Iowa counties Harrison KHutler Adams and Taylor followed Harrison county to cut relief rolls and put men to work on farms. Farmers reported harvest season labor shortages. Some men on relief refused farm hand jobs.

Des Moines District Judge Lou Ladd issued a second contempt citation against Ricka Findley, clerk in the city solicitor's office, after an unsuccessful sheriff search. She is ordered to appear before the judge at 2 PM next Wednesday.
