Mrs. Sarah Berry Dies in Keota at 65
Mrs. Sarah I. Berry of Keota died Sunday morning at age 65. Born in 1885 in South English, she was married in 1904 to John Berry and lived in Keota for 23 years. Survivors include daughter Mrs. Lela Carr of Wellman and four sons Burl Wayne Herschel and Joe, plus sister Mrs. Della Smith of Iowa City. husband and daughter Ruby preceded her in death. Funeral services are set for Tuesday at 2 PM at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Hugh Williams. Marsh funeral home handling arrangements.

Woman Injured in Hit-Run Collision
Mrs. Edgar F. Martin of Barada Michigan was treated at Washington County Hospital for cuts and bruises after a hit and run crash on Highway 92 four miles west of Washington. Her husband’s car, a trailer, and a truck were involved. the truck fled the scene and caused $1000 trailer damage. Sheriff Charles C. Snyder investigated.

Lt. D. Gates of Joinersville Texas said he witnessed seven American soldiers surrender to North Koreans near a forward outpost. He found four of the men and three others slain by a road after their hands were tied and they were machine gunned.
