Washington Monument Tour and Smithsonian Visit Reflections
Journal excerpt describes ascending the Washington Monument by elevator and viewing the city from 500 feet up, noting safety features and the grand scale. The party visits the Smithsonian and Bronx Zoo exhibits, then festival memories fade into fatigue, with humorous dreaming about a mummy and a ham sandwich. They depart Washington for Pittsburgh before a homeward return. Also advertised is a July 14 Personally Conducted Excursion to the Big Horn Basin and Yellowstone Valley from Omaha.
