Harriet P. Shively, born August 9, 1851 in Ohio, died Saturday night at her Wayland home after a four week illness. Funeral set for four this afternoon at her home, with Rev. J. J. Pritchard leading and burial in Wayland cemetery. Survived by son David Shively of Burlington, daughters Mrs. Mary Ballard of Wayland and Mrs. Frank McKune south of Washington, plus sister Mrs. John Pangborn of Salem. Member of Cottonwood Brethren Church.

Born Hanover Germany January 24 1849 he came to America at 18 and lived in Chicago then near Hartsburg NL before moving to Washington 32 years ago. Survived by wife Anna Fischer Dittmer and eight children: Chris Henry George Mrs Anna Gordon Mrs George Scott Frank Miss Marie and John Dittmer. One daughter Marguerite preceded him in death. Two sisters Mrs Chris Witthoft and Mrs Katherine Otte and several brothers and sisters are deceased. He was a devoted Methodist member.
