Surgery finally halts long running hiccups for Lucy McDonald
ATLANTA UPI Mrs Lucy McDonald stopped hiccuping for the first time in nearly two years after surgical nerve severing and cocaine block in her neck. The hospital said the hiccups had persisted since July 8 1963 and could not confirm permanence. She had exhausted over 2000 home remedies and two prior hospital visits. Her mother Emma Grass expressed hope the treatment would work. The patient grew nervous and lost weight and had been unable to hold a job.

Goof in a newspaper on eye and horse tale
A lighthearted correction item from a Sun day paper jokes about a misprint regarding a 55 year old race horse owner and the Vagrancy Handicap. It notes an error about a horse’s age and weight, a corsage placement rule, and a left eye tip, then pokes fun at furniture distress looks and domestic laundry chores.
