Todd said suspect Jess Carter, 53, was in a beer parlor when the robbery occurred and remains jailed on intoxication charges. He added Carter had talked about robberies, heightening suspicion.

Auto Crash Near Ainsworth Sends Six to Hospital
Two Ainsworth girls, Lucille Lockett 18 and Kana 15, are hospitalized with skull fracture and knee injuries after an eastbound collision at 12:25 am near the Louisa county line. Detected in the other car driven by Woodrow Wagoner 21 of Hobart Indiana, who pleaded guilty to violating Iowa motor laws and paid a fine. Five other youths from Ainsworth were in Wagoner's car. their injuries range from minor bruises to ligament damage. The Teel car suffered a total wreck. Wagoner and wife Louise sustained only bruises. Wagoner allegedly drove at high speed over a hill, preventing stopping in time.
