In Montreal a diver named Peter Trans who descended 20 feet into icy Ouxtardes river waters on a routine Cofferdam job was found wedged at the bottom of a ladder. Divers and engineers fought freezing conditions through the night to reach him. he was brought to the surface at 7 30 a.m. Doctors began examination as the Ontario Paper Company awaited word.
