Peter Richard, 78, of Noble died last evening after a long illness following a broken leg injury. He was a longtime resident of Noble and Wayland areas and a member of the Eicher church. Survived by his wife Elizabeth Schantz. They lived in Oregon for a period before returning to Noble about five years ago. Red Cross Flood Fund Reaches $1517.66 in County Aid
At noon today the county flood relief fund reported by Red Cross chair Roger Sherman stood at $1517.66 up $299.04 since yesterday. He noted many more contributions from towns, schools, and organizations not yet tallied and expected the county total above $1500 by Saturday noon. Ainsworth chapter contributed $73 with more funds to come from pupils and local groups as relief efforts continue.

The body will be brought to Washington for burial with L A Jones funeral home handling arrangements. She moved from Washington to Des Moines last July to be with daughters Carrie Eckerman and Votruba and had been in good health until a hip fracture two weeks ago. Afton Farmer Killed as Bobsled Slides Down Hill
