Bobsled Lifts Food To Isolated Colesburg Iowa
A bobsled loaded with food and medical supplies reached Colesburg after 21 hours battling 10 to 15 foot drifts that isolated 350 residents since last Thursday. Mayor W E Hoot warned that without road openings severe suffering would follow within 48 hours. Prior to the blockade, villagers depended on horseback deliveries from Petersburg nine miles south.

Yesterday evening's service ended two weeks of evangelistic services at the Presby terian church run by Rev and Mrs ER L Jeambey of Keep River who returned home today. Scambey preached three sermons with a large audience at the evening joint service with United Presbyterian. The campaign built a hopeful spirit and many warm friendships were made despite results not meeting all hopes.

Brighton Man Dies at 94 in Brighton
Noble Frederick, 94, of Brighton, died Sunday at his daughter Mrs Allen Macy’s home after a weeklong influenza illness. He lived with the Macys eleven years, moved from Pleasant Plain as a boy, and was a longtime local figure. Funeral services are set for Tuesday at 1 PM at the Macy home, with burial at Antioch cemetery.

After expert analysis of the stomach contents the death of John F Sheets of west of town Thursday afternoon is attributed to heart failure likely induced by sudden shock or high nervous tension. Clarence Von Epps of the State University of Iowa staff supported the theory, with coroner L A Dr Masson and Dean Teeters of the university chemistry department involved in the examination. No poison was indicated.
