Dale Bertramsen, a Clinton bowler with a 174 average, became the first Iowa woman to roll a perfect 300 in state history since 1937. She achieved 12 consecutive strikes in the first game and finished with a 623 series along with 181 and 142. Rose Dewey previously bowled a perfect game in 1937, per Laura Albrecht. Two others, Beulah Abbott and Bernice Thee, also accomplished 300s in 1932.
