Washington Jaycees marked Jaycee Week by completing two community projects. A Saturday benefit sale for Keith Proctor’s family raised about 2500 dollars, with donors and merchants thanked for articles and support. A Sunday polio vaccine clinic administered Sabin Oral Vaccine doses to about 6500 people at the armory. the next clinic is February 16. The observance runs through January 25, with local Boss of the Year and Distinguished Service Award events planned for January 30 at St. James School.

Peter Jungbluth Dies in Rochester Minn
Peter K. Jungbluth aged 47 of Washington died Sunday January 19 1964 in Rochester Minnesota after years of illness. Funeral at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home with Reverend Theodore Schwartz officiating. Burial is Elm Grove Cemetery. He was born August 26 1916 in LaCrosse Wisconsin to Carl J. and Olga Smevog Jungbluth. He attended Washington schools and graduated from Washington Junior College and MIT. He was a Delta Tau Delta member and belonged to the Methodist Church. Survivors include his parents and siblings Helen Welsh Walter Carl P and Margaret Klein.

One killed five hurt in Mount Pleasant area crash
A two car collision about three miles west of Mount Pleasant left one person dead and five injured. The deceased was identified as Mrs. John Ridinger, 23, of rural Mount Pleasant. The other vehicle carried three children and a man and a woman who were injured. names were not released.

Mrs. Cora E. Schulty, 80, died Sunday night January 19, 1964 at Washington County Hospital after a five week illness. She lived at 608 West Monroe Street and was born October 8, 1883 in Washington County. She married Ralph Edward Schulty in 1940. he died in 1961.
