A SAS Caravelle bound for Esenboga Airport in Ankara crashed after clipping a hill during descent. Forty one of the 42 aboard died. three rescued unconscious, one American passenger among the dead, and a second plane, a US Navy P 4M, feared lost near Adana with 16 aboard.

Lloyd S Williams 71 of Keota died at home Tuesday January 19 after years of ill health. A retired Rock Island Railroad worker of 37 years he will be buried at Woodlawn Washington after services at Powell Funeral Home Keota led by Rev L Duane Churchman. He was born September 11 1888 in Washington. He married Amy Davidson October 17 1923. He leaves his wife one brother Ralph of Washington three nieces and one infant child died in infancy.

Brenda Kay Roth daughter of Rev Vernon E and Lois K Roth died at her home south of Washington Tuesday evening. The service is Thursday at 2 p m in Bethel Mennonite Church with burial in Bethel Cemetery. Survivors include her parents two sisters Joan Becky four brothers James Lowell Stanley and Phillip and grandmother Mrs Mabel Kauffman of Hesston Kansas. The body is at Zehr Funeral Home and will be taken to the church at 1 p m with the casket not opened after the service. Rev Vernon Gerig and Rev Willard Leichty will be in charge.

Rites Here Thursday For Robert Grimes
Funeral services for 83 year old Robert Lee Grimes will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Sherman Eden Funeral Home with Reverends Walter Smith and S Jay Curry officiating. Burial will follow in Keota Cemetery. Grimes died Tuesday at Washington County Hospital after illness since December 1959. He was born April 9 1876 in Lytle City Iowa and lived in Keota and Washington. He married Mary Bertha McKinnis in 1898 and was active in music and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include wife Mary Bertha, a daughter Mrs Richard McCleery, granddaughter Mrs Douglas Fuhr, grandson Dr Richard Grimes McCleery, and three great grandchildren.
