An armed bandit robbed the Little Giant Grocery in Evansdale Iowa on Tuesday evening fleeing with 198 dollars in cash after firing one shot. Clerk Mrs Vilet Hauber and three customers were inside when the man demanded money from the register and shot into the floor to escape. He is described as 20 to 25 years old, wearing a parka and a beard.

Three Die In Iowa Traffic Accidents In One Day
United Press International reports three men died in separate Iowa crashes Tuesday, boosting the 1966 highway toll to 36, eight more than a year earlier. Leland K. Roberts, 41, of Knoxville, died when his car skidded on gravel on a Marion County road after tailing another vehicle. Passenger Mary Jolly was injured. Henry Tilman Roberts, 69, of Humeston, died when his car struck the rear of a parked semi on U S 65 near Humeston. Robert J. Friets, 28, of Bancroft, died when his vehicle left the road and hit a bridge railing on U S 169 north of Bancroft.
