Marshalltown Couple Killed at Crossing
Marshalltown police report William F. Thompson 38 and his wife 35 died in a car train collision at an unprotected crossing. The 72 car Chicago North Western freight train struck the car front to front. speed about 50 mph. Witnesses say the train blew its whistle for a block prior to the crossing.
