Coast Guard Reserve Officer Training Plans Unveiled

Victory Book drive collects hundreds on campus
More than 600 books were gathered during the Victory Book campaign at Iowa State College. The drive, an activity of the student defense council, saw chemistry, physics, and English texts most in demand with Bibles and dictionaries also donated. Mr and Mrs J W Cox learn by letter that their son Billy Cox now flies for the United States government with an interceptor command in southern California. He patrols off the California coast and credits an excellent instructor for teaching him to fly two years ago. He volunteered for air patrol duties and has paused some of his art work, planning to resume later. Previously with Walt Disney studios he aided federal intelligence work, developing photography and fingerprinting techniques and directing others in this field.
