IPERS changes urged by Iowa committee
A legislative study committee recommends raising IPERS covered wages from 7800 to 10800 dollars. Both employees and employers would keep 3.5 percent contributions, with the state funding about 2 million extra annually for schools. Other proposals include retire at 60 with full benefits after 30 years, a $50 minimum monthly benefit for those with 10 years, and vesting after four years.
