An Eastern Airlines twin engine airliner from New York to Boston crashed in a Cheshire wood patch after catching fire in flight killing all 12 passengers and crew of three. Eyewitnesses saw smoke and an in flight fire followed by an explosion.

Badger Trapped Near Washington Raises Night Prowler Speculation
