At the M E church worship includes an 11 a.m. prelude titled The Gambling Evil followed by a sermon on Applied Christianity Assurance. A 7 p.m. service features Applied Christianity Fruits with preaching by the pastor.
Local business matters concluded before noon as part of the day’s routine news. Officials report no incidents or delays. routine filings and transfers completed with standard notices recorded.
Judge Ben McCoy reopened the Sioughlery term disposing of cases and adjourning. Nancy Anderson proved executor with 1600 bond. Jacob Snider final report approved. J F Royer widow awarded 300. In Sigourney the body of George Terrell was found after he killed Hinton at Hedrick on January 7 and then died by suicide.
Hon. John G. Wooley delivered an enthusiastic talk on Christian Citizenship. Rev. Davidson cited war epochs and temperance goals while urging moral leadership in churches and politics. The gathering included remarks on testimony and duty, ending with prayers led by Rev. Davidson.

Katharine Ross was born in Pitts burg Pennsylvania on July 25 1822. She joined the Christian church young and married Amos Hall of Bladensburg Ohio at eighteen. They moved to Iowa in 1855 settling at Solon Johnson County. Eleven children were born. five survive Mrs Frank Neal Joel James M Winters et al. Hall died as a patient Christian with strong faith in Christ quoted from scripture. The obituary ends with an unrelated medical advertisement for Hall’s Catarrh Cure claiming internal remedy effectiveness.
Creston Iowa Jan George K Met Calf an arrestee in a 1893 robbery case involving the American Express Company and the C B Q railroad while employed at Thayer has disappeared from New Castle Kentucky where he awaited a preliminary hearing for a similar crime His trial in January was set but he was not present Bond of 300 was forfeited and the man remains at large The case drew local attention with supporters insisting on his innocence and claiming mistaken identity.

Charleys Aunt hailed as a global hit will be staged here by a select company including three of the original London cast.
