Eureka silage corn compared with Pride of the North
Eureka silage corn a late dent variety from Massachusetts tests against Pride of the North a medium dent. In 1908 and 1904 Eureka reached thirteen feet and when cut Sept 15 ears were immature. Eureka fodder contained more water and ash but less extract matter than Pride of the North. Green and dry digestibility favored Pride of the North slightly in green form. Yields showed Eureka higher in stalk content and green fodder tonnage, while total food material was nearly equal between varieties.
